The Southeastern Electric Exchange Safety Performance rankings were released this week and Mississippi Power placed first in the Total Company category.
The company also ranked No. 1 in Transmission and Distribution safety and was one of only two companies in the SEE with zero serious injuries companywide in 2019.
“Every employee should be incredibly proud of this performance,” said President and CEO Anthony Wilson. “This ranking comes from consistently making smart and safe decisions for every job we perform no matter how small the task may seem.”
The announcement comes as the company wraps up its annual Safety First Kickoffs where employees celebrated the successes of 2019 and focused on 2020 safety goals.
“I’m very proud of what we accomplished in 2019,” said Safety and Training Manager Patrick Calomese. “Our goal will always be to ensure that every employee returns home safe no matter what job they have to perform. I encourage every employee to keep this momentum going so 2020 is just as successful.”
“As we celebrate this momentous achievement, it is also the time to look forward,” said Wilson. “We must continue to remain vigilant and be our brother’s keeper.”
