Mississippi Power expects power to be restored to 95 percent of customers impacted by Hurricane Zeta by midnight on Monday night
Gulfport, Miss. – The Mississippi Power Hurricane Zeta storm team has restored service to approximately 31,000 customers impacted by the powerful storm as of 2 p.m. Friday. Based on the completed damage assessment, the company expects to complete restoration to 95 percent of customers by midnight on Monday night.
Mississippi Power’s transmission and distribution equipment suffered extensive damage which requires a rebuild of a significant portion of the company’s electrical infrastructure throughout our service area.
“I want our customers to know that we have every available resource on this job,” said Mississippi Power President and CEO Anthony Wilson. “Our crews and employees appreciate your continued patience as we work to safely restore your service.”
The company has secured nearly 1,000 outside personnel from 16 states to join the Mississippi Power team.
